The program was aimed at promoting physical education and a healthy lifestyle for youth and teens, improving public health, preventing the spread of infectious and non-infectious diseases and revitalizing community life through the repair and furnishing of gyms and restrooms in general education institutions and the radicalization of healthy habits among children. To assess the needs and problems of all the schools, what was first established was an online tool (on the dasaran.am platform), after which key criteria were developed for repair of the gyms and restrooms.

The gyms and restrooms in the Aygeshat and Tandzut communities underwent capital renovation and were furnished with the necessary items in line with modern standards in the pilot stage of the program. To implement the pilot stage, the “My Step” Foundation collaborated with the Izmirlian Foundation.

Afterwards, within the scope of the program, the gyms, dressing rooms and restrooms of Basic School #25 named after V. Hambardzumyan in Vanadzor and Basic School #6 named after S. Khanzadyan in Goris — the winners of the first season of the “Children’s League” TV show aired on Armenian Public Television — underwent capital renovation through co-financing of the Manoogian Simone Foundation. The winners of the second season of the “Children’s League” TV show — School #1 in Hrazdan and School #12 in Alaverdi — were provided with sport equipment.

Alongside the capital renovations, there were also events targeted at capacity-building and skills development of physical education teachers and a number of awareness-raising campaigns aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.
