Program in Shirak province
About the program
The first stage of the Program for Discovering the Professional Potential of War Participants, which was launched in 2022, was successfully held in Shirak Province due to the fact that Shirak Province has a large number of servicemen with disabilities and the highest level of unemployment in the Republic of Armenia. The Program was held for 40 beneficiaries and featured a professional orientation camping event, after which a personal growth plan was developed for each and every participant. Taking as a basis the personal growth plans, 12 war participants attended vocational training courses devoted to jewelry-making, accounting, bookkeeping, photography, video editing, information technology (IT) and foreign languages.
The Program featured a course on business planning and administration that helped 19 participants develop their own business plans. After procuring funds, the “My Step” Foundation, in cooperation with several public and private institutions, implemented those business plans in the areas of agriculture, rabbit breeding, beekeeping, furniture manufacturing, production of baked goods, etc.
Based on the outcomes of the Program, 16 war participants have been hired by various organizations, while another 19 have started getting involved in entrepreneurship.
The war participants were also provided with personal psychological assistance, and there were not only vocational courses, but also consultations in order for them to solve their health-related, legal and educational issues.
