“Horizons” Dual Education Program
About the program
Each community has its own unique history, occupations, lifestyle, as well as opportunities and local features arising from all these processes. We believe that as a consequence of the consistent guidance of the programs to be accomplished, it is possible to make life in the regions more attractive by concentrating the available local resources.
A work-based perspective model of learning, a dual system helps students become qualified specialists in a short period and start working in private and public spheres. Consequently, the “My Step” charitable foundation has started to develop a new model of learning in the field of general education.
The “Horizons” educational program, aimed at the development of human capital, is intended to create and evolve an exemplary and applicable model for the general education system, which will be based on the individual abilities of each young person, as well as on community opportunities and characteristics. The introduction and implementation of this dual educational model in the regional settlements of Armenia will allow young people to acquire new skills and strengthen their professional abilities.
The “Horizons” educational program will be piloted in 2022 in the fields of vinification and viticulture for 9th-12th grade students in 11 settlements of Armavir and Aragatsotn.
The beneficiaries of the program will have an opportunity to study the culture of vinification and viticulture on the spot, combining theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as incorporate it into general education, make studying more interesting and meaningful and develop professional skills.
As a consequence of the accomplishment of the program, it is expected that the young people with clear professional orientation will be formed in communities, who will have professional abilities and skills to be provided with jobs, which, in turn, will contribute to the development of the communities.
