To mitigate and overcome the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the “My Step” Foundation carried out a number of initiatives, including the following:
- Allocating AMD 100,000,000 to the United Nations World Food Programme’s “Program for Rapid Response to COVID-19 in Armenia” for the purpose of obtaining vital medical accessories within the scope of the fight against COVID-19 (masks, insulating outerwear, protective glasses, gloves, face shields and insulating clothing) for reinforcing the primary and most important circuit of the fight against the pandemic. The medical accessories were imported to Armenia from China on 8 April and 16 April 2020 and were provided to the Commandant’s Office in order for the accessories to be redistributed in case of need. The initiative was funded by the Foundation’s benefactor Christine Simone.
- Providing 1-month packages of food and protective measures (prescribed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs) to lonely elderly and persons with disabilities in Aragatsotsn Province (421 persons), to children having lost one parent or both parents and children of multi-member families in Vayots Dzor Province (2,036 children of 695 families).
- Providing 343 tablets to the children of vulnerable families attending 26 schools of 23 communities of Vayots Dzor Province and to the orphanage in Gavar in order to foster remote learning.
- Providing, with the support of Russia-based Armenian businessman Artur Ayvazyan, medical equipment and accessories required for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic to the medical center in Martuni and the health center in Vardenik — a disinfection tunnel, disinfectants designed for tents, reusable medical outerwear, face shields and more.
- Providing the EXS-68R digital X-ray system (made in South Korea) to Polyclinic N16. Due to a very heavy workload, the only X-ray device that had been operating at the Polyclinic since the 1980s became out of order in April 2020. Within the scope of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the “My Step” Foundation, paying heed to the application of Polyclinic N16, allocated AMD 29,500,000 to acquire a new digital X-ray device, which was provided to the Polyclinic.
