In 2019-2020, a number of kindergartens were improved (capital renovation and furnishing) in Armenia’s communities with the support of the “My Step” Foundation.
Debedavan: After a four-year interval, the only kindergarten in Debedavan village of Tavush Province was reopened in August 2019. The Foundation allocated funds for full renovation of the kindergarten’s roof, as well as for partial renovation and furnishing of the building.
Mets Parni and Sonasar: With the support of the Foundation, the kindergartens in the Mets Parni village of Lori Province and in Sonasar village of Kashatagh region of Artsakh were furnished with necessary equipment and domestic appliances.
Armavir: The restroom of the kindergarten in Armavir village of Armavir Province was renovated.
Meghri: The “My Step” Foundation, in association with the state subvention program, initiated capital renovation of the building of the kindergarten in Meghri in line with modern standards, as a result of which the kindergarten would be able to accommodate up to 300 children. The Foundation allocated over AMD 117,000,000 for design works and renovation in 2019-2020, but several shortcomings emerged during construction, and the Board of Trustees of the Foundation decided to stop funding the capital renovation of the kindergarten until the shortcomings were eliminated. After capital renovation, the kindergarten in Meghri opened its doors in the spring of 2023.
