The program was carried out jointly with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia and was based on the needs assessment conducted in the culture homes operating in the provinces of the Republic of Armenia and international practice. It was geared towards the proportionate development of arts and cultural life in Armenia through capacity-building of regional cultural organizations, as well as the improvement and technical rearmament of infrastructures. Among the program’s beneficiaries were 9 culture homes selected based on the results of an open tender, including the Culture Home in Berd, the Culture Palace in Oshakan, the Center for Leisure and Culture in Stepanavan, the Culture Center in Artik, the Culture Home in Khachik, the Culture Center in Meghradzor, the Culture Center in Mrgashat, the Culture Home in Gandzakar and the Culture Center in Ltchashen.
A number of courses devoted to skills development, visits to youth and alternative entertainment centers and mentorship for the staffs and volunteers of the program’s beneficiary culture homes were organized within the scope of human capacity development.
Within the scope of technical capacity development, the culture homes were provided with audiovisual, computer and light equipment and table games for organizing events. All the equipment provided to the Culture Home in Khachik was allocated by Vega store chain. Within the scope of technical capacity development, what was also planned was the partial renovation of 5 culture homes and the establishment of rooms for young people. There was planning and design works, but due to the 44-day war, in November 2021, the Board of Trustees of the Foundation decided to gear all the available resources of the Foundation towards humanitarian programs.
