Established in 2018 through the joint efforts of the “Support to Wounded Soldiers and Disabled Servicemen” charitable non-governmental organization, Yerevan State Medical University and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the Soldier’s Home Rehabilitation Center provides free rehabilitative therapy for persons who received injuries during homeland defense. Alongside treatment, the Center also holds cultural, educational, social, vocational training and entertaining programs.
Since 2019, the “My Step” Foundation has been providing ongoing support to the Soldier’s Home Rehabilitation Center, attaching importance to the high quality of healthcare services for servicemen and the programs that are carried out for their social reintegration. Between 2019 and 2021, the Foundation allocated AMD 450,000,000 to the Center (the funds were geared towards the creation of 8 new hospital rooms, 2 kinesiotherapy halls and 7 rooms for administrative and medical purposes, the renovation of the hall named after Armenak Urfanyan and the activities for the Center’s interior design). Through co-financing of the Foundation, the Prosthetic Center, which operates at the Soldier’s Home, was capitally renovated and was replenished with state-of-the-art equipment in line with European standards.
Geoge Pagoumian, a great friend of the “My Step” Charitable Foundation, Armenian-American businessman and founder of PMA Venture Capital, greatly contributed to the program’s implementation.
