Musical instruments have been sent to new addresses – the “My Step” Foundation continues providing keyboard instruments, percussion instruments, brass instruments and microphones to various music schools and cultural centers across the Republic of Armenia, and this time, musical instruments were provided to 7 schools in Yerevan and Kotayk Province.
The brass instruments department at Charles Aznavour Art School in Byureghavan lacked several instruments (the pupils were mainly playing their teachers’ instruments, but now the Art School has brass and percussion instruments provided by the Foundation.
“We needed brass instruments. When we received the application stating that the “My Step” Foundation can provide musical instruments, we gladly replied that we do need them. We marked the trumpet, trombone, baritone, percussion instruments and received all of them. We are very happy. Now the children have the opportunity to choose what instrument they prefer to play. We have pupils who have been making great achievements over the past years and can now move to the trumpet, baritone or tenor,” said Narine Zakaryan, Director of Charles Aznavour Art School in Byureghavan.
After replenishing the instruments, the Art School has set the goal to set up a brass band — something that the pupils and teachers have been anticipating for a long time. Percussion instruments, keyboard instruments and microphones were also provided to Khachatryan Music School #1 in Hrazdan. According to the School’s Director Shahane Manukyan, they are very pleased with the consideration and really hope that the additions will foster the development of dozens of children.
“Our School has never had a percussion instruments classroom. This year, we opened a new classroom for the first time and already have 10 pupils. We hope everything will be fine. We opened the boxes of instruments together. You could see that the children were very interested by looking into their eyes. We received percussion instruments in different sizes, as well as a synthesizer and microphones from the “My Step” Foundation. Culture has always been at a high level in our country, and this will serve as yet another impetus for our children to represent Armenia at a high level on stages abroad,” said Shahane Manukyan, Director of Khachatryan Music School #1 in Hrazdan.
The “My Step” Foundation will continue providing musical instruments to schools. The Foundation received the instruments as donations from benefactors, and the instruments are distributed to various schools through partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia.
