It was the “Quanta” Master’s Degree Program in Quantum and Mesoscopic Physics that sparked the interest of student Anna Melkonyan in quantum physics. Anna participated in the summer school program held as part of the Program and has decided to continue her studies in this sector.
“The subjects of the course are very interesting, particularly “Quantum Mechanics”, “Quantum Nanostructures” and “Quantum Informatics”. Of course, they are also complex, but the complexity of the subjects is what sparks interest for more in-depth study,” the student said.
Anna is an alumnus of the Information Communication Technologies and Communication Systems Department at the Armenian-Russian University, and her studies for a Bachelor’s Degree also served as a basis for her to have a picture of her future in science.
“What makes you feel responsible is that you realize that you will be able to find a job in your profession with the knowledge gained and stay in your homeland in the future. I want to stay in my country. I can’t imagine my future beyond the borders of Armenia,” Anna Melkonyan stated.
By combining theory and practice, the students try to understand the complex theorems of quantum physics in an interactive environment and in a question-and-answer format. Anna said she and the other students are currently preparing to write their Master’s theses and they also hope to write scientific articles and become a part of the research that is conducted in the sector later.
