Executive Director of “My Step” Charitable Foundation Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Rector of the Russian-Armenian University (RAU), Doctor of Ec. Sc. of Armenia and Russia, Professor Edward Sandoyan have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The purpose of the memorandum is to combine efforts in the fields of science and education, which implies design and implementation of joint programs as well as opening of a new laboratory in the “Usmunq” School that operates under the auspices of the university.
“We are focusing on the needs of “Usmunq”, the subsidiary of the Russian-Armenian University, and we want to cover those needs to the best of our ability. In particular, we can help with acquiring modern lab equipment for laboratories of natural sciences,” said Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
According to him, for many months the Foundation carries out the mission of providing lab equipment to public education institutions in the regions of Armenia, as well as to general education establishments that operate under the authority of higher education institutions or that are subsidiaries of those institutions.
“I am completely certain that this memorandum between “My Step” Foundation and the Russian-Armenian University demonstrates that we have a long cooperation ahead,” concluded Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
RAU Rector, Professor Edward Sandoyan thanked the Foundation for support and underlined the necessity to reinforce students’ theoretical knowledge with practical work.
“If the goal is to fully equip laboratories in all education institutions in Armenia, that is a huge initiative. Of course, we need to aim for it, but we also need to mind that the issue is a financial one,” said Prof. Sandoyan.
He highlighted the importance of cooperation between RAU and “My Step” in the field of quantum physics and engagement of RAU faculty and students in “Quanta” master’s program, implemented by the Foundation.
“We have students and alumni who are involved in the program. I believe that one of the ways to develop our country is in that plain,” stressed Prof. Sandoyan.
In the end of the meeting, Edward Sandoyan and Mkhitar Hayrapetyan expressed readiness to continue the cooperation in the field of higher education, including latest international experience and knowledge in the collaboration.
