Executive Director of the “My Step” Foundation Mkhitar Hayrapetyan today visited H. Navasardyan Secondary School in Amberd village of Armavir Province where a hothouse-greenhouse was built through the “Horizons” Dual Education Program and the combined efforts of the “My Step” Foundation and Monaco’s “Children and Future” Association.
With the accompaniment of the School’s Principal Zohrab Maghakyan, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan toured the premises of the School and was told about the activities carried out in the greenhouse, as well as the conditions in the garden and drying house and the ready-made products stored there.
The availability of this greenhouse will provide the pupils with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of agriculture. At the same time, the School will have an additional source of income, and this will make it easy to solve both educational and social issues and help provide textbooks, school clothes, food and other necessary accessories.
A number of issues related to agronomy in the education sector were discussed, and the need for establishing a connection between education, economy and the labor market and, in this context, the engagement of pupils, was underscored during the visit.
At the end of the meeting, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan stated that implementation of this project is laying the foundation for new cooperation between Monaco’s “Children and Future” Association and the “My Step” Foundation and voiced hope that the joint efforts of the two organizations in this format would be ongoing in order to carry out similar initiatives in the schools of the other provinces of Armenia.
